El concepto de cadenas musculares de madame Godelieve Denys-Struyf presenta un enfoque psicocorporal y como tal posee múltiples facetas. Esta serie de seis fasciculos aborda el aspecto biomecánico del método que constituye para el kinesiterapeuta o el terapeuta manual una base importante para la mejor comprensión del terreno. Esta comprension del terreno nos guiará directamente a la eleccion de útiles necesarios para una intervención eficaz y más adaptada a cada paciente El método propone gran variedad de técnicas para responder a estas necesidades de adaptabilidad que el terapeuta irá desarrollando: Se utiliza el masaje en forma de técnicas de piel proyectadas en los trayectos de las cadenas, técnicas reflejas, técnicas de activación a través de contracciones isométricas excéntricas, toma de conciencia de la estructura ósea, técnicas corporales de reaprendizaje del "gesto justo".... Cualquiera sea la técnica utilizada, responderá siempre a un perfecto conocimiento de la anatomía y de la fisiología. No hay recetas sino una verdadera adaptación para cada caso. El terapeuta cadenista no se conforma simplemente con desbloquear, sino que trata de reprogramar lo fisiológico imprescindible para el buen funcionamiento del aparato locomotor. Dispone de sus propias maniobras de reprogramación de las acciones musculares recíprocas y recurre también al aprendizaje o reaprendizaje de los gestos apropiados para una optimización de la utilización corporal. Estos dos modos de actuación necesitan un buen conocimiento de trayectos musculares así como de sus interacciones sobre la estructura ósea y articular. El hueso, el músculo y la fascia forman una unidad. Para llevar a cabo este trabajo de reestructuración y de reprogramación, es importante conocer las leyes fisiológicas que rigen el cuerpo humano y particularmente el sistema locomotor. Conocer lo que es correcto, para corregir lo incorrecto. Esta serie de seis fascículos pretende sobre todo, facilitar el trabajo de los profesionales interesados en el método, y también para informar a quien no lo conozca sobre el aspecto biomecánico de las cadenas musculares G.D.S. Este primer fascículo trata de las nociones básicas, esenciales para un estudio más profundo de las diferentes cadenas que será desarrollado en los cinco siguientes.
